Enchanted – A New Start

The City of Kalsia was decorated like a bride. The whole city was beaming with the feel of celebration. Everyone was getting their best clothes ready to witness the Royal wedding. It is very rare that common people of the city get to participate in Royal functions. 

Mostly functions happened in private within high Security. City people then got to get the grand gift from the Palace after the functions. But this was their Dear Raja Saheb. He has his ways to get into the hearts of people. High Security will still be in place, mostly from air and other from ground in civil dress code with Security cameras all around at various angles. High profile commandos are always on alert for action. But this was all behind the scenes. People of Kalsia or Geet and her family will not even feel the security and can enjoy the occasion with open heart, without any restriction.

All the marriage functions of Raja Sahib and Rani Sahiba will be held in the huge center of the wonderful Botanical garden of Kalsia. The Garden obviously was owned and maintained by the Royals.

Geet and her family arrived in Kalsia last night. Geet had a great time with her family and shopping for Rajji. Her family did shopping for her but Raja Sahib has clearly told her to not shop anything for her. He took all her arrangements in his hand. Geet was excited to know what he had selected for her.

Last night when they arrived at Kalsia, They were taken to a different building of Royals but not to the main palace. Geet had been dying to be with her RajaShib, to talk to him but elders have decided that she will stay with her family in another building as all the rituals will be held in proper manner and Bride and Groom should stay separately.

Today when she woke up, the whole building was in a festive mood. It was decorated with colorful flowers all around, the aroma of festive cooking hitting everyone’s nostrils. Artists were playing festive marriage songs and music intermittently to keep the mood always on.

A Smile formed on Geet’s face. How far has her husband gone to make this wish of her memorable and make her feel so special. Ohh she wanted to run and hug him tight. In the same city, staying at a distance was so hard for Raja sahib kee Diwani. Lost in her Deewangi, she kept lying lost in his thoughts.

While Handa’s were surprised to see the elegance and richness. The Royal building that they are staying in, itself looked like a huge palace, what would the real palace look like. Their daughter was the queen of this beautiful place. The realization sinked and they were so overwhelmed with the thought.

The arrangement was so much like a dream and rich, that they could do nothing in it. Sit, enjoy and bless Raja and Rani.

At night they were tired and the light was dimmed, so they did not realize much and had quickly drifted to sleep.

Mohinder and Rano woke up to realize they were in an elegant, beautiful room. Their hearts filled with content. Rano moved to remove the heavy Satin curtain of the window only to get a wonderful view of the palace from a distance. It stood tall and elegant with pride. And then her eyes went to the stretch of the building they were in. It had a wonderful lawn with a beautiful garden and the festive vibe, the Dhool, Nagara, shehnai etc.. mesmerizing the whole environment. It was so enchanting. They felt blessed to have gotten their daughter married to Raja Sahib. Wealth was one thing but the way her husband was showering her with love and  making her feel special overwhelmed them. 

Same was the case with Brij. He felt so happy for his trouble queen sis, who was expert at bringing trouble to her own self. But now they do not need to worry, her able husband was in love with her and knew how to handle her. He had also been happy with the beautiful maturity that has come in Geet.

Rajji was excited  and she ran all around the Palace and its garden. When people working there and supervisors of arrangement saw her, she thought they would think silly of her. But these were people of Kalsia, who have immense love and respect for Raja Sahib and their sweet Rani Sahiba. They sweetly smiled at Rajji and instead offered to show her the place.

Now coming to our Rani Sahiba, who woke up by lazily stretching her arms in her bed, coming out of his thoughts at last. Reason, her whole night chatting with her hubby dear who had been enjoying her restlessness of meeting him and scaring her of taking his revenge for being the cause of this distance.

Her eyes sat up and unlike others, she rang the bell for the helper and got up to see what this festive sound was. Ohh… she was mesmerized and immediately rang to her hubby, who was hell busy with the arrangement

“Woke up? Good Morning!!”

“Who told you I woke up now? Good Moorniiing!!” she said Yawning.

“Rani Sahiba, get up and get into your role. You are responsible for your family’s wonderful experience here. Everyone is all set on their job, you need to oversee and make sure they are properly welcomed. Show them your love for your Kalsia. And leave your care to me.”

“I love you” is all she answered in his long talk

“hmmm” she pouted. He never answered back. Maan smiled knowing very well her reaction and disconnected. He was hell busy with arrangements.

Geet then called Dadima “Good Morning Dadima”

“Good Morning Bete. Does everything looks good there”

“Dadima, It’s amazing.”

“Now dear it is your responsibility to see your family is taken care of well there and how wonderful our Kalsia is. This is your home, show them how we welcome our guest and how and why you are so proud of your Kalsia”

“Yes Dadima, don’t worry”

“And Geetanjali, you need to visit the City Center as well and address the females of Kalsia and show our thanks to our people. They are eager to see you as a bride. You need blessings from the people of Kalsia as well.”

Geet checked the clock. It was already 9 am. She made calculations in her brain “Dadima, how about 11 am”

“Yes, that should be good. I will get the announcement made so ladies can gather there on time. And you will be there as Rani Sahiba.”

“Sure Dadima, do not worry.”

“You need to get back by 3pm. Professionals will be there to get you ready for the evening and your Raja Sahib” she teased Geet

“Okay Dadima,” Geet giggled shyly.

The lady came with Geet’s tea by the time Geet freshened up. 

“Send someone in dressing room in half an hour and lead me there after breakfast”

The Royal breakfast was all set by 9:30 am and Geet’s family members were escorted to the dining area. 

They were a bit uncomfortable with the Royal treatment. On the breakfast table, Geet was signaling the servers to attend everyone properly. They were surprised to see the authority yet humbleness in Geet’s ways. She was a different girl they had not known.

After breakfast, “Mumma, we all will be leaving for City Center. We need to reach there by 10:45 am. I want you all to come with me”

“Of course we will go.” They were so eager to see Geet’s life here. This was their daughters new life and it being a Royal world they knew very little. 

Geet looked at one of the attendants. “Please arrange people to help them to get ready” the attendant nodded.

Another attendant came forward “Rani Sahiba, beautician is waiting for you in the dressing room” Geet nodded and followed the attendant.

Her family kept looking at the retreating figure of Geet. “Wow!!” Came out together from Brij and Rajji

“Is this our Jhalli?” said Brij.

Geet got ready in a light yellow fine silk Saree with a golden border. Today she adorned Jaraoo jewelry with Ruby and emerald, though it was not very heavy weight, elegance was no less. Her hair, done in a low bun with a delicate pearl pin to hold her hair. Makeup perfectly done for the daytime people greet.

Geet reached the gate where all others were waiting for her. They were surprised again to see their own Geet, in a different avatar. Rano came forward and placed Kajal behind her ear.

Geet hugged her Mom then looked at everyone “Chalen” They nodded and settled in the respective vehicles.

In the City Center, there was a Rani Sahiba show. As Geet got down, a friendly lady, Sangeeta who was Geet’s manager in Kalsia came 

“Rani Sahiba, Kalsia loves you. In just a quick announcement, City Center has a crowd of females. They are eager to meet you.” 

Geet at start had been very nervous of such a crowd but after doing it repeatedly and the love that has grown from both sides has made her comfortable. The Kalsia people were her own, she just talked heart to them. 

Sangeeta looked at the other manager Jaisingh “Take Rani Sahiba’s family in the VIP seat”. Geet was led by Sangeeta and rest went with Jaisingh.

They were seated in the hall when Geet addressed all the ladies, conveyed her love for them. Conveyed how Raja Sahib cared for them and how Kalsia is part of their family. It was not a written speech to get a vote. Just simple heart talk and ladies listen to her dearly. Later Geet talked to them, there was softness, elegance and her unique childish laugh and down to earth kiddish question to ladies was something that made her win their heart. 

On there way back to home “Geet, you have a different world here and I can’t believe our Geet handles things this way”

Geet looked outside “I love Kalsia. They are my own. The care for them just comes out.” They could see that Geet, being their own Geet, her world has changed and she has embraced this new world as her own. Now Kalsia was her home and she loved Kalsia and its people. Still her innocence intact, at such a young age she has taken the role of Rani Sahiba effortlessly.  She was their own Geet but now they knew her life was much more broader and her world little different than theirs. 

It was 3 pm and Geet was taken for a special bath to get ready for the evening. She was given a massage and then asked to lay in the water with Rose petals and all other fragrance oil to relax her. While she was in the bath a lady attendant came and gave her the letter. Geet settled in the bathtub and asked everyone to leave her alone.

She opened the letter with a smile on her face as she read the note

“Kaisa lag raha haai gulab kee pnkhurion ke beech

Yah yeh kahoon yeh itra rahen hain apnee kismat per

Tumhe mujhse pehle jo chu liya inhone

Per inn nadan gulab ke pankhuri ko kya pata

Yeh jo ajj itra rahen hai, Kal jalenge mujse

Geet’s heart was beating so fast. What effect his words had on her. She was dying to meet him in the evening. Ohh all her outlook to get ready has changed. It was not just a grand function for her, but the new desire to meet him. This was her husband, magical for her.

It was so true, the redness in her face that his words brought, how could these rose petals bring. If his words have this power, how will his fingers work on her body?

“ohh Gosh” Geet threw her head backward to be lost in him.

Geet was readied by the group of professionals, while on the other side Maan was getting himself ready for the evening. 

Geet came down the hall, where all her family were already waiting for her.  They looked at her with love and pride. How beautiful and elegant she looked. They never knew their daughter was this special. As it was Mehndi and Sangeet, Geet had Dark Green heavy lehenga with silver and gold Jari combined in a way to make them shine uniquely. There were diamond beads embedded at the center part of the lehenga making alternate lines. One line of diamond beads ran from waistline to center and another  line from center ran down till the bottom Jari. Her blouse was a similar combination of Gold and Silver Jari at the neckline and a diamond line at the bottom border. Geet had the matching precious jewelry, a combination of pearl and Diamond. It was a bit heavy to suit the occasion. Her makeup is wonderfully done to perfectly enhance perfect beauty. Her curly hair was let down only very few strands pulled back to be held by the diamond backpin.

On the top, the one thing that was enhancing her beauty was the natural redness and shyness on her face at the thought of meeting her Raja Sahib just in a while.

Rajji came and hugged her “Dii you are looking like a real princess”

Rano hit her head “Your Di is a real queen”. Rano was seeing Geet for the first time in this light.

“Mo-oom” Geet pouted and hugged her Mom. Then Mohinder hugged Geet. He had slight tears of happiness at the corner of his eyes. How swiftly wiped while hugging her. 

Geet hugged Brij “For me, always my Jhalli sis” Geet pouted “Of course.”

But the happiness of the whole family for Geet was next level. It was the first time they were  experiencing the real change in Geet’s life.

Geet and her Family reached the Botanical garden though the VIP gate. When they reached the center, Raja Sahib and his family were already there. Rano and Mohinder touched Savitri Devi’s feet and so did other youngsters from either side of the elders and they shook hands with each other. In between all these, Geet’s eyes were looking for someone and he was nowhere to be seen. Geet hugged Annie and Vicky and Dadima but they could sense her restlessness.

“Chahe duniya saja do inke liye, inkee nazar toh ek ko dudhti hai sari bheed me” teased Vicky. Geet pouted and they all laughed.

“Deewani hai meri Bahu” Dadima took Kajal from her eyes and placed behind her ears

“Nazar na lage” 

Geet smiled with shaky lips and looked down with shyness, the shyness which only enhanced her beauty.

Annie came behind her “Jinhe Nazar dundh rahee hai, woh wahan hai” She stretched her hand to show Geet. Maan was busy instructing men. 

Geet looked up and at the same time Maan turned, mano hawaon ne bata diya, wooh aa gayee. Their eyes met, he smiled, she smiled and then she looked down.

“Uff, just one month away and see her” teased Annie

“Dadimaaa” Geet complained

“Annie, don’t trouble her”

Geet’s family was again amazed with their love for their daughter. 

Everyone took their seat and Geet was seated in the Center  double seated Royal Sofa. As she settled, Maan came from somewhere and settled beside her. They looked at each other and a smile formed again. It was this time that they were having a whole different feel of the marriage function. Anticipations and looking forward to being in each other’s arms in a real way. To start their married life.

Geet was all shy and looking down when she felt his warm hand on hers and then threading their fingers together and then squeezed it. Geet obviously blushed and turned red. Maan looked at her head lowered and red with shyness, her lips shaking with a smile on it. He loved this effect of his on hers. It encouraged him to be more passionate about her and their togetherness.

“Kalsia is awaiting our acknowledgement. Should we wave at them?” He asked in a low voice. They then looked up and together waved at Kalsia. Whole crowd there woke up and greeted their wave.

They settled and the Sangeet program started along with Mehndi. Kalsia people started performing in the center. On stage Chairs were arranged on two sides in a semicircle. For girls and Mehndi artists on one side and boys on other. Maan and Geet were in the center though a bit far.  

“Where do I write Raja Sahib?” asked Mehndi artist, from Geet. Maan heard her, Geet looked at him and he nodded for No. he wanted Maan on her hand. 

“I will write the name, you do the design” Geet told the artist and looked at Maan and smiled.

Later, Geet took the cone from the artist “You go, I will write”

She then hid ‘Maan’ within her Mehndi Design.

It was a whole two hour grand performance by various artists. Everyone enjoyed it and girls got their Mehndi dried in the meanwhile.

Then Vicky, Annie and Rajji performed on 

“Wah wah Ramji

Jodi kya banai

Bhaiya aur bhabhi ko

Then Rajji came and added her part

Then They performed other Hit numbers

“Jhalla walla”

Later, everyone Shouted for Bride and Groom to grace the stage with their couple dancing.

Maan stood up and gave his hand to Geet. She showed her Mehndi hand to him and pouted. Mehndi was dried but his wifey dear was playing around. 

He raised his hand and signaled the Dj to play his song and song Started Playing

He bent down and picked Geet in his arms elegantly. Geet felt shy being picked on, in front of the whole public. He gave her a look, you don’t play around with me. She pouted. 

Her in his arms, he looked at his people and they were filled with joy and laughter. With her in his arms, he stepped down to the center.

Music started playing “Please put me down” she made a pleading face and slightly held her ears. He gave her a lovingly warning look and put her down.

He then signaled for a mic. He moved forward to take the mic.

With mic in one hand, he held Geet’s wrist in other and twirled and started singing further 

“Haath thaam le piya karte hai vaada

Ab se tu aarzu tu hi hai iraada

Mera naam le piya main teri rubaai

Teri hi toh peeche peeche barsaat aayi, barsaat aayi

He then pulled her closer for a dance. They came closer and were lost in the mesmerizing eyes of each other. 

Music and songs kept playing and their eyes were talking, making promises and showing desires. They moved in rhythm as their heart. Their hand in each other as Maan left one only to twirl her around and then again clasp it into his. His other hand went on the small of her back, her hand went on his shoulder. 

He bent forward and she bent backward in sync. He moved even forward to reduce the gap and blew his hot breath on her face.

“

The song went on and their dance went on in sync. Their eyes always met in between, smiles and teasing adorned their faces.
