Maan reached his guest house pretty late. SMSed her “See you in morning”

Geet saw it, placed the phone near her heart and with sweet smile slept back.

Next morning when Geet reached office, she could see though the blind, Maan was already there, busy. She was restless to meet his eyes. Maan had already seen her coming and he was fully aware of her restless ness but kept himself busy to trouble her. He loved how his troubling her made her land in his guest house.

After a while he raised his eyes to meet hers. Smiled crept on their face. But suddenly he winked, Geet turned red and looked down. Her heart racing so fast and her lips shaking.

“Geet how are you feeling now” she came back to reality with Adi’s words.

Geet was confused but then realized, this is something Maan must have told for her leave “Fine Adi Sir”

“Ok… prepare well on the task Shasha has sent. Tomorrow we again have conference call”

Work, stealing glances and conference room meetings with Maan’s indirect trouble continued or few days.

It was after a week when everyone was called by Adi – “Its Maan Sirs Birthday in 2 days. Let’s give him some surprise” No one knew what effect it had on someone. They collected money and planned for a nice cake , snack and some gifts

Geet went home that day, she wanted to make him feel special from her side, did not know what to do. She didn’t want to buy anything from Money, she wanted to do something that will touch his heart.

When Rajji nandu came to her room “Nandu, Rajji… My friend in office has birthday, kya doon”

“Arre go buy nice Birthday card..” “Nahi.. it is so common”

“Geet we are so happy, you have started making good friends in office.” Said Nandu

“Geet di, you are so skillful in craft, why don’t you do some handmade”

Geet that night, woke up whole night making her gift for Maan. She was all lost in her gift. She have decided to give him her everything to him in that Gift. She poured her whole self in making his gift. Tears were dropping down her eyes but she only focused on his face and gathered courage and did it.

It was Maan’s  Birthday day – Geet woke up early that day, got ready in white suit with golden lace. She looked divine that day

“Geet where are you going this early beta”

“Tayi ji. Going to offer some prayer. Can I go please” “Sure beta” and she placed her hand on her head “Bless you” Geet hugged her and left.

Geet took auto, reached the temple in outskirts of town. She payed Auto Driver and then waited for him to leave. After that Geet took a small thin road, which was not even proper road but only made of mud. She then crossed a small jungle from that path and then reached a small temple, which was not fancy at all. She offered her prayer and then heard the sound she was waiting for.

“You came back. You had to, as you ignored my warning that time” Geet turned and joined her hand to very old man

“Baba” “I warned you to wait for him but you ignored my warning”

“Baba, today is his Birthday. I want to offer prayer for his well-being”

He did some prayer and offered her a thread with small locket. “Make him wear this for your bond and his well-being”

“But baba – I don’t want this to be burden on him. If he does not believe in it”

“Bachca – your bond with him is beyond my or anyone’s control but still this will always help you to protect him and your relation”

Geet touched the thread and placed it on her head but Baba saw her hesitant.

“You wear or he wears it, it’s the same. If he does not wear, you wear it. But keep it only between you to”

“But I don’t want this to harm him in any ways” “Aise nahi ho sakta. Tez hain isme.. asar toh hoga But I can help you”

“If anything has to happen, it has to be me. I want it only for his well-being. I will take rest of the affect”

He took the thread and made some prayer “Go Now. Make him wear. It will never ever harm him. If once after you put on him and after that if it is not worn by anyone of you, it can affect you but he will be protected.” Geet took the blessings and left.

In the office, all staff gathered for surprise of Boss’s Birthday. Maan entered and as usual his eyes looked for her. He wanted to see her on his Birthday. Today somehow he will take her out with him but how he was still figuring out. But soon

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAAN SIR” he heard his whole staff gathered. Maan smiled at everyone.

“Whole world is here except her” he wondered. They requested him to cut the cake but Maan lingered as he waited for her. Adi was also upset with Geet not reaching on time. It was all planned, still she was not here. He wanted all his reports to wish Maan Sir.

But Maan could not linger further, still his eyes searching for her but at last he cut the cake. Everyone sang for him. Maan took a piece of cake in plate, did not eat it and asked others to enjoy the cake. They then gifted him his present. Maan smiled at everyone’s gesture. It was hush bush, everyone was enjoying the small party when Geet reached office, almost panting.

Adi’s eye went on her and he rushed to her “You are coming after everything is finished. What is with you?”

“Sorry Adi Sir” Geet quickly excused and looked at Maan who was looking at her. Slight pain in his eyes but he smiled and took the plate of cake and left for his cabin.

“Adi sir, can I please go wish Maan sir. ”

“Geet, first you come after everything is finished and now you want to go to his cabin and separately wish him. No separately meeting with Boss is allowed”

“I also need to show him this file, he asked for yesterday” “What’s in file?” “Some design changes”

Maan was looking from his cabin, Geet was arguing with Adi.  “Let me check with Maan sir”

He called Maan “Sir does Geet need to show any Design file to you” “Yeah Adi, send her in”

Maan placed the blind down before Geet would knock. Geet knocked and entered. She looked at Maan, he turned other way “Naraz ho. Aapka Birthda tha toh” he turned to her

“Happy Birthday” “Thanks. Bithday tha toh?”

She took out the thread with locket and made him wear it around his neck. Maan could just look at her as she made him wear it with as much care and authority mix. “For our relation and your well-being.”

“So that’s why you are late” he touched to locked to on his chest, to show her his acceptance. She nodded for yes “This temple is very far. Today first thing I wanted to do is offer the prayer”

“You could have let me know. Hum saath chalte.” She nodded for No “I know you don’t believe in these things. I don’t want to force anything on you”

Maan came closer “Boundaries you have set not me. For me in this relation, whatever you think is right, is right for me. Your belief, your wish everything. I don’t need to remind you every time”

Geet touched the locket on his chest, making contact with his skin, sending shivers to him. How badly Maan wanted to hold her, feel her. Make her know he was hers completely.

“Only one thing, if you have to remove it for any reason then give it to me, I will wear for you” Maan shook his head in disbelief “Geet, how many times you want to listen what I just explained”

“Sorry” she smiled “Happy Birthday once again” She then handed him the file

“This is your Birthday gift from me. But open it only when you are alone at your home”

He took the file “hmm kuch khas hai?” she looked down and nodded for YES “Very Special“.
